Orman’s Obituary
SHAND, Orman Cecil – 64, Barrington, passed away April 9, 2020, at home. Born October 10, 1955 he was the son of the late Cecil Sinclair and Hilda Leona (Crowell) Shand. Orman enjoyed going on wheelers and visiting camps. He loved a good yarn with friends. He also greatly enjoyed country music and old western movies. He also liked to take trips to Inner Island and Bon Portage Island and loved to see all the boats. He is survived by his daughters, Beckie (Eric) Shand, Jody (Danny) Ross; sisters, Susan (Jim) Holmes, Carol (David) Toogood; grandchildren, Jazmin Dugas, Logan Dugas, Nikita Penney, Abbigail Shand, and Brooklynn Ross; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sibling in infancy. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Barrington. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at the H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington at 2:00 pm with Pastor Edward Nickerson officiating. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, seating may be limited and social distancing guidelines must be followed. Also, please note that immediate family will be given priority for seating. There will be a livestream of this service on the Huskilson’s website (www.huskilson.net) for those unable to attend due to gathering restrictions. Memorial donations may be made to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia or the Rosalin Nickerson Care Fund.
