Oliver’s Obituary
ROSS, Oliver Stanford – 88, of Stoney Island, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2020 at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born on February 1, 1932 he was a son of the late Wallace and Flora (Atkinson) Ross. Oliver loved deer hunting and also ducking. He spent many hours carving ducks and he was well known for always telling stories. Oliver was a fisherman for many years and loved being on the open water. He is survived by his step-sons, Terry (Alison) Dixon and Brian (Mary) Dixon; step-grandchildren, Ryan, Geri-Lynn, Derrick, Sherman Jr. , Troy, Travis, Denise, Steven, Rachel and Aaron; several step-great grandchildren; sisters, Helen Blades, Jean Kootnans of BC; brother, Allen Ross, of Ontario; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Muriel Ross; step-son, Sherman; brothers, Malcolm Ross, Randal Ross; and sister, Avangline Atwood. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. There will be no formal visitation of funeral service. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to Rosalin Nickerson Care Fund or charity of your choice.
