Olive Bollivar
1924-2020
Olive Victoria Bollivar (1924-2020), age 96, of Middlewood,
N.S, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2020 in Queens Manor,
Liverpool. Born in Middlewood to the late Stephen and Edith
(Himmelman) Slauenwhite.
Always very proud of all her family, she was especially
pleased with the accomplishments of her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren so far in their lives.
Mom worked as a house cleaner for a few families in
Bridgewater as her children neared their teenage years. After her
children had mostly left the nest, she was employed at Riverport
Seafoods for a number of years.
In 1979, she moved back to the place of birth, Middlewood,
after re-marrying. This brought her closer to several of her sisters
and her only brother.
Mom enjoyed country life, picking wild berries, tending to
flower beds or just going for a walk in the woods. Some of her past
times were knitting and sewing for as long as her vision
allowed.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Cecil) Lohnes,
Edmonton, AB; sisters Marguerite Eisnor, Liverpool and Eunice Whynot,
Cookville; three granddaughters, Lisa (Matthew) Porter, Timberlea,
Jill Buhler, Brandon, MB, Kelly (Brad) Morrison, Dartmouth; three
grandsons Douglas (Lisa) Doney, Legal, AB, Troy (Carla) Lohnes,
Sherwood Park, AB, Tyrone Robar, Brandon MB. Also surviving are
daughter-in-law Lynda Tippe-Robar, Brandon, MB and son-in-law Wayne
Doney, Halifax, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Olive was predeceased by first husband, Reginald Robar;
second husband Ivan Bollivar; two sons, Milton and Owen and her
daughter Susan; sisters, Lottie (as a child), Beatrice Whynot, Viola
Oickle, Irene Wamboldt, Katie Crowley and brother Lawrence
Slauenwhite.
A graveside service will be held 11am on Tuesday December 15
in Calvary Lutheran Cemetery, Middlewood, Reverend Matthew Porter
officiating. No flowers by request. Memorial donations may be made to
the Calvary Lutheran Cemetery or a charity of choice. On-line
