Obituary
With heavy hearts, the family of Norma Beckwith announces her passing, which occurred at the Dr. V. A Snow Centre on July 22, 2020. Norma was born in Saint John on October 3, 1931; a daughter of the late Charles and Florence (Doucette) McLaughlin, and the loving wife of the late David Beckwith. She is survived by her sons David (Doreen) and Terrance, daughters Nancy Beckwith and Susan Tracey, 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She shared a special bond with granddaughter Natasha Doucette (Blaine), and great-granddaughter Hayley, who lovingly cared for her over the years. Along with her parents and husband, Norma was pre-deceased by her sisters Irene Vienneau and Delores Griggs, daughter Jane (Beckwith) Lemon, and brother Roy McLaughlin.
Over the years, Norma was a devoted stay at home mother to her five children, and continued to provide exceptional love and care for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Norma was a jack of all trades, and her many skills came to her naturally. She was an excellent cook and baker, a talented artist, seamstress and quilter, and enjoyed woodworking and ceramics. She was also a dedicated member of her community of Nauwigewauk for many years, frequently volunteering and participating in events.
The family would like to thank the Dr. V.A Snow Centre in Hampton, N.B., for providing exceptional care and love for Norma in her final years.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424). In keeping with Norma’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. For those who wish, remembrances to the Dr, V.A. Snow Centre would be appreciated.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Norma Marie Beckwith October 3 1931 July 22 2020 (age 88)..
