Obituary
COOK, Norma Ruby (nee Howell) – Passed peacefully away in the presence of her family on September 11th, 2020 at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, Norma Ruby Cook (nee Howell) at the age of 72. Born on July 24, 1948 in Badgers Quay, she was predeceased by her parents: William and Mildred Howell (Dicks), and infant brother William Jr. Norma will be forever loved and missed by her children: Jason Cook and Lesley (David) Hurley; brothers: Herman (Connie) Howell and Barry (Linda) Howell; grandchildren: Anna and Thomas Hurley; nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives and friends. Her children, family and friends were her main focus and she is fondly remembered by all who met her as a kind and gentle person and a loving and devoted mother. She was always grateful for her blessings and faced her illness with such grace and courage. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of St. Patrick’s Mercy Home for their care and compassion. You have treated Norma, as well as our family, with love, kindness, and respect. We are forever grateful.
Visitation to be held from Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl on Sunday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service to be held from Barrett’s Mount Pearl Chapel on Monday September 14, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. COVID-19 government restrictions apply. Interment to follow at Memorial Gardens, Galway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. Visit www.barretts.ca to leave a message of condolence to the family.
