Norma’s kind heart and dauntlessness was
something that many people admired that knew her. She spent many
Friday nights at the Kaylee Hall in Poole’s Corner
listening to the music, and chatting with people she knew. The
old-time music was always a favorite of Norma’s especially
the fiddle. Once a fiddle was heard her toes wouldn’t stop
moving to the beat. Norma even went to every Rollo Bay Fiddle Festival
for 39 years, since they first began. Camping down there for the
weekend and sitting out during the day listening. But it
doesn’t stop there. Even with her love of music Norma was
well known in the family as the seamstress whenever a grandchild got a
tear in their pants Norma was always on it to fix it. And most of all
she enjoyed it and loved tailoring clothes. Rug hooking was a special
hobby of Norma’s and always had beautiful work come out of
it. Knitting gloves and hats for all the children for the winter
months was also another enjoyment Norma had. Norma always had time to
be in her garden weeding and keeping it maintained for people passing
by the house to see. Norma and her husband Elmer grew strawberries
together for many years. One of specialties was baking especially
cookies; she baked chocolate chip cookies for her grandchildren all
the time up until she was 91. Norma always believed in doing word
puzzles and made time to write in her diary once a day to always have
memories to look back too. She also had a love for all animals
especially cats and dogs, her favorite dog was Freddy which misses her
very much. In accordance to all this Norma was well loved by
everyone who knew her, her warm face was calmness to anyone who saw
her. She will be forever missed by everyone who knew
her.
