Obituary
Neville Garth Hayward was born on March 11, 1946 in Tisdale, Saskatchewan to parents Howard and Ethel Hayward. Neville’s early years were spent on the family farm. He was educated initially at Leacross School and later in Tisdale.
After high school, Neville worked for a few years in the mines of northern Manitoba. In 1972, he came back to Armley, bought some land, and began farming with his father and his brother, Leslie. In 1973, he joined the Masonic Lodge in Tisdale, where he soon became involved in the different offices of the organization. Neville was an active part of his community, volunteering on many committees.
In 1977, Neville met Dorraine Gaudet, an elementary school teacher. They got married in 1978, and had two children: Jacqueline and Patrick. Neville loved to travel. He had gone twice to England and Europe before he got married. Neville’s other interests included landscaping, camping, boating, fishing, building small sheds, playing checkers and pool. Neville always enjoyed a good joke, good food and drink, and listening to rock ‘n roll music.
Neville retired from farming in 1998. In 2006, he and Dorraine moved to Tisdale. They lived there until 2012 when they decided to move to Caleb Village in Humboldt to be closer to their children. Neville and Dorraine were married for 42 years.
Neville passed away on October 5, 2020 at St. Mary’s Villa Care Home in Humboldt, Saskatchewan. He was predeceased by his parents Howard and Ethel Hayward. Neville is survived by his wife Dorraine, his brother Leslie (Cheryl) Hayward, and his two children: Jacqueline (Michael) Bergerman, grandchild Olivia, and Patrick (Amanda) Hayward, and grandchildren Maxwell, Crosby, and Pascha.
Due to COVID-19, a private service for immediate family will be held on Friday, October 9, 2020 in Tisdale, Saskatchewan.
