Obituary of Nathan Howard Ward
Nathan Howard Ward, 28 of Berwick, passed away on May 11, 2020 in his home. He was the son of Tammy Ward and the late Krag Albert Monette (Quebec).
Growing up Nathan looked forward to family trips and going to Nanny and Grampy’s house. He took much delight in going fishing with Nanny and beating Grampy at pool. He was such a kind, gentle and caring person with a big heart and great sense of humor. He loved his family and relished in making people laugh. He had an inner drive and just wanted to help all those that came into his life. Nathan was very intelligent and had a thirst for knowledge. He loved to take part in discussions about politics, religion or anything on the news. This inspired him to fully research all things that were new to him. He spent much time on the computer taking courses, gaming and tending to his on-line shops. Nathan wanted to be a military pharmasist and educated himself with vast knowledge on the many types of medications he would need to know. A few things that brought Nathan enjoyment was his love of music, especially the Beatles, watching birds at the feeder and loved playing with Winston. He was also interested in technology, weather and photography. Nathan was absolutely thrilled to have one of his pictures shown on the weather channel.
Nathan struggled many years with mental illness that affected nearly every aspect of his life. But he was making progress and started to slowly break down some of those barriers. He was so happy to recently have been contacted by his half sister and interested in learning more about his history and spreading the branches of his family tree.
Nathan was a large part of our lives and will be missed always and forever by his family and friends. Nathan leaves behind two uncles that always claim to be the favorite, but his aunt was the favorite by far.
He is survived by his mother Tammy, Berwick; grandfather Kelvin Ward, Berwick; uncles Bill Ward, Somerset and Isaac Ward, Berwick; aunt Jessica Ward, Kentville; niece Rose and nephew James; half-sister Muir Hughes, California; and his cat Winston.
Besides his father, Nathan was predeceased by his grandmother Natalie May Ward.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no service at this time. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association – Kings County Branch . Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Nathan
