Nancy’s favourite thing to do was to spend time with family, and especially her children and grandchildren, of whom she was very proud. She also had a fierce love of dancing and was known to do a great jitterbug when the opportunity arose and enjoyed a good word puzzle. Her cooking and baking skills will be missed, and her sense of humor was a great joy to the family, even if she occasionally made her daughters blush. Nancy was also known as a second mom to half of the South Side of Carbonear many of whom have reached out in the past few days to express condolences and share memories of the days she worked at the “The Store”. She always loved those around her with a full and complete heart, especially her husband of 55 years, Martin, and her children, all of whom will miss her terribly.
Thank you to the staff of the Carbonear General Hospital ICU and the staff at the Cardiology Unit at the Health Science Complex, for the care provided to Nancy during the past few days.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private visitation will take place at Noel’s Funeral Home, Carbonear, followed by funeral service at Noel’s Memorial Chapel, Carbonear on Monday, December 28th, by invitation only.
In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation at heartandstroke.ca, Canadian Cancer Society at cancer.ca, or Canadian Diabetes Association at diabetes.ca.
