Obituary for
Motria Dackiw
The family of Motria Dackiw is heartbroken to announce her passing on April 10, 2020 at the age of 86 years.
Motria will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 61 years, Peter; children, Ksenia (Ivan) Fedyna, Roman (Jamie Roth) and Vira (Mike) Bokalo; four grandchildren, Markiyan (Radostina), Mikhajlena, Zachary and Stephan; siblings, Oleh (Bozhena) Iwanusiw and Orysia Olijnyk; brother-in-law, Jerry Wallsten; and numerous dear nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents, Jaroslaw and Iwanna Iwanusiw; sister, Bohodara Wallsten; and brother-in-law, Bohdan Olijnyk.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the 1st floor nursing unit at St. Michael’s Long Term Care for their compassionate care.
Motria will always be remembered for her generous spirit, giving freely of her time and talents to her community. Above all she will be cherished for her role as a supportive and selfless wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Divine Liturgy will be live-streamed Wednesday, April 15 at 10:00 a.m. at stjosaphat.ab.ca/, from St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in Edmonton. Cathedral Clergy officiating with interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery. A public Remembrance of Motria’s Life will occur at a later date.
