Obituary of Mona Joan Chasse
With great sadness we announce the passing of Mona J Chasse (nee Daniel) on June 11, 2020 at the age of 87.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Albert; sons Brian and Greg (Donna); her grandchildren Bonnie (Brian), Jeremy (Amanda) and Jeffrey (Collette); her great-granddaughter Syerra; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Mona was born the youngest of 8 children to John and Isabella Daniel. She grew up on a farm in the Kenton, MB district, attended a country school in the area until Grade 8 and then moved to Oak Lake, MB for her high school years where she met the love of her life Albert Chasse. She attended Teachers College in Winnipeg, MB and married Albert in 1955. She taught for 3 years in Manitoba and then moved to Saskatchewan where she taught for 30 years. Mona loved being a school teacher and especially loved all of her Grade 1 students.
Mona was an avid sports enthusiast, she played baseball, curled and golfed. She was the number one fan of both her son’s sports endeavours.
At Mona’s request there will be no funeral service. A private graveside service for her immediate family only will be held at the Indian Head Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Mona’s memory.
