Mme Carolyn Knowlton Davis 2020

Born September 2, 1936
Died April 16, 2020
A native of Stewiacke, Nova Scotia, Carolyn was pre-deceased by her parents, the late Roy Stanley and Carolyn (Carrie) Mae Davis as well as her brother Richard (Dick). Beloved sister to Gerald (Ardythe) of Truro, NS, mother to Malcolm Andrews (Wendy Grenon) of Pointe-Claire, QC and Lynn Andrews (Denis Poirier) of Coldwater, ON, grandmother to Jeremy, Terry, Deanne and Jacquelyn and great-grandmother to five. Carolyn faced many health challenges, both mental and physical, throughout much of her life. In the end, COVID-19 simply proved too daunting a foe; she could fight the good fight no longer.
Carolyn had a fulfilling career working for the navy in Halifax and was a proud mature student and honours graduate of Saint Mary’s University. She lived the last twenty-plus years of her life in the Montreal area.
From a very young age right up to the end, Carolyn had a passion for music. She shared that passion with friends and family, as well as with the many church communities she belonged to throughout her life, most recently Summerlea United Church in Lachine, QC.
Sincere thanks to the dedicated staff on 3 West at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Pointe-Claire, who showed kindness and professionalism during her brief stay with them, despite working under very stressful conditions.
A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held when circumstances permit. Arrangements with J.J. Cardinal Funeral Home, Dorval QC (jjcardinal.ca/en/). Donations in her name would be welcomed by Omega Community Resources, 600 Avenue de l’Église, Dorval, QC H9S 1R3.
