Mildred June Hern (Davies), passed away peacefully at the Joseph Creek Care Village in Cranbrook, B.C., on December 11, 2020 at the age of 92 years.
Born in Fernie, B.C., to Margaret P. Davies (Blair) and Edgar M. Davies. The family moved to Cranbrook, B.C., where Mildred began school and later graduated from high school. She preferred to be called Millie and when old enough, worked in the family run butcher shop. There Millie met her beloved husband Arthur W. Millie’s most fond memories were of playing trumpet in the Cranbrook Girls Bugle Band and later joined numerous bowling teams. She also loved to do Christmas baking with her mother and sister, Dorothy.
She is survived by her son David (Diane) and daughter Susan Curtis, grandchildren Christine Doe (Phillip Gee), Scott Curtis, Trevor (Skye) Curtis and Michelle Curtis, great grandchildren Coralie Doe, Grant Curtis, Rachel Curtis, Andrew Curtis, and Sarah-Jane Curtis.
Millie was predeceased by husband Art, sister Dorothy Bohan and both parents.
There will be no public service at this time. Those wishing to remember Millie may do so by making donations to the local food bank or a homeless shelter.
Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Services.
