Obituary of Michiko Harada
Michiko passed away peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound, on Christmas morning, December 25, 2020. Born in Vancouver, BC, Michiko Harada (née Kinoshita) of Annan, formerly Toronto, was in her 97th year.
Beloved wife of the late Teruo Harada. Loving mother of Kathy Harada (Allan Boyd) and Glenn Harada (Janet). Cherished grandmother of Robyn Harada (Scott Fritzsch), Graham Harada, and great-grandmother of Ainsley and Oliver. Dear sister of Pat Kusano, the late Joan Hirano, and the late John Kinoshita.
Michiko was proud to serve as a volunteer for 50 years at the Scarborough General Hospital. Special ‘thank you’ to the nursing staff on 6-2 at Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound, for their wonderful care and compassion given to Michiko and her family.
A private memorial service to celebrate Michiko’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation or the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre in Toronto would be appreciated and can be made through the funeral home.
