Obituary of Michel Malcoun
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michel Malcoun (Windsor, Ontario), who passed away on August 12, 2020, at the beautiful age of 102, leaving family and friends to miss him.
Michel was loved and cherished by his mother and father, Teresa and Antonios Malcoun. He was predeceased by siblings, Joseph Malcoun, Pauline Courey, and Nadium Malcoun and his nephew, Dennis Alwan. He is survived by his sister Evelyn Alwan of Peoria IL., nieces, Cathy Alwan, Sharon Alwan Harrison (Gary), Yvonne Jurewicz (Marion), Angele Kerwin (Mike), Denise Jones (Kevin), Mary Anne Dancey (James), and Kathleen Courey, and nephews Philip Courey (Souad), Gabe Courey, Gary Alwan, Rick Alwan (Mary), Anthony Malcoun (Elaine), Raymond Malcoun (Penny), Mike Malcoun (Leslie), Steve Malcoun (Diane), and Ken Malcoun. Although never married, Michel was also cherished by 30 grandnieces and grandnephews, and 30 great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
Michel loved to dance, the tango being a favourite and to write beautiful French poetry. He was an extraordinary man who lived life on his own terms.
Over the years, Michel enjoyed the friendship of many who supported him in his business, “Michel’s” which he operated on Erie Street and those he met nightly over dinner at the Windsor Raceway. He was always thrilled to meet old acquaintances even in his retirement years.
A Mass and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, once Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.
If desired, memorial donations can be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Family and friends are welcome to leave their messages and memories on this memorial page to share with the family.
