MacDonald Michael Joseph, 80 of Red Islands, Richmond County, passed away at Strait Richmond Hospital Evanston, Richmond County on Thursday Feb. 11th. Born in Red Islands, he was the son of the late: James and Margaret (Campbell) MacDonald. Michael was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Johnstown. He is a retired Enforcement Officer with the Federal Department Fisheries and Oceans
Mike was quite the storyteller; he loved playing his fiddle, fishing and he was also a middleweight boxer in his younger years.
Michael is survived by his wife Judith of 48 of years. Daughter; Emily of Halifax, Son, Donald of Bridgewater; his sisters, Marie (John) Burke of Port Hawkesbury, Eileen Sampson of Red Islands. Many nieces and nephews. Sister’s in-law: Reynolda MacDonald, East Bay and Anna MacDonald, L’Ardoise. Brother in-law: Malcolm MacDonald.
Predeceased by: his Sister: Rita and two brothers: Jackie and James.
There is no visitation by request, a Mass of Christen Burial will be held on Monday Feb 17th at 10:30 from Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Johnstown, Richmond County, with Father John Yakes officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Memorial Donations may be made directly to the Strait Richmond Hospital Palliative Care Fund. .
