Michael Dowholis in his 95th year passed away peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital on October 9th 2020. Son of the late Stephen Dowholis and Annie Dowholis. Beloved husband of the late Gladys Dowholis. Dearly loved father of Carol Howes ( Jim) and Robert Dowholis. Cherished Grandfather to Sarah Kerr (James), Shannon Stevens and Joshua Dowholis. Special Great Grandfather to Edie Kerr and Ryder Stevens. Loving companion to Joan Crawford. Survived by his two sisters Verna Pippin and Vicky Anderson. Michael was predeceased by his siblings Mary, Fred, William, Alice and Bella. Mike was a longstanding member of Colborne Street United Church where he participated on many Board committees and acted as an elder to other parishioners. He made many lifelong friendships within the Colborne congregation. His passion to serve others led Michael to volunteer with Christmas Baskets ,St. John’s Ambulance and to be a longstanding blood donor. As a volunteer management consultant he travelled to third world countries to support their local industries. He was always looking for ways to lend a helping hand. Mike’s high energy and zest for life led him to adopt many interests. He was an avid bridge player, hiker, runner and bicycle enthusiast. He had an abiding love for all things nature related and therefore spent a lot of time fishing, boating and organizing family camping vacations. His appreciation of nature is a gift that has been passed down to his family and resulted in many happy times at Chandos Lake. Memorial donations to a charity of your choice are appreciated.
