Obituary
Michael Francis Chambers, long time resident of Fort St John, BC passed away on June 30, 2020 at the age of 85. Several friends were at his side. He was born in Harron Middle, England. He was one of three sons (all deceased). Mike immigrated to Victoria, Canada in 1951. He completed his schooling and university in Victoria before moving north to start his teaching career. While teaching in Fort St. John and being involved in the school system from 1958 through 1975 Mike was instrumental in the early development of not only school sports but also Fort St. John minor hockey.
Mike had a positive influence on the lives of many young people in the Fort St. John area and will long be remembered for his contributions to the community as a whole.
From 1975 until 1982 he continued working in the Northern B.C. School System. Returning to Fort St. John in 1983, Mike worked with the BC Housing Commission, he also became a well known participant at town council meeting in his later years.
There will be no formal services at his request.
