Obituary of Melvin Joseph Wedge
Mr. Melvin Joseph Wedge was born on January 1, 1929 in Bloomfield Parish, PEI; he was the son of the late Louis and Alma (Doiron) Wedge.
Melvin worked in the woods, construction and retired from Sus Refrigeration. He was a hard-working man with a heart of gold. He served in the Canadian Army PPCLI during the Korean War from 1952- 1953 and was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Sus Branch # 20.
He will live on in the hearts of his three sons: Murray Wedge and his wife Elke of Germany, Walter and his wife Denise of Barrie, Ont. and Alan Wedge of Red Deer; his daughter, Cindy Freeze and her husband Michael of Smith Creek; his extended family: Molly, Kandace (Scott Kilpatrick), Brandy (Thomas Thompkins), Teneal, David and Alexis; as well as several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Melvin Joseph Wedge passed away peacefully at the Sus Health Center on May 19, 2020 at the age of 91.
Melvin is predeceased by his sister, Alice Pinot; his daughter, Cheryl Chambers; his companion, Jean Richardson and by his stepson, John Richardson.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home (506-433-1176), 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sus, NB. Due to COVID-19, all arrangements will be held privately.
