Obituary of Melvin Eugene Sparks
peacefully at Prince Edward Memorial Hospital on Sunday, October 11, 2020 in his 89th year. Son of the late Ambrose and Martha Sparks. Beloved husband of the late Myrtle (nee Rodgers) Sparks. Loving father of Linda (Wesley) Henderson of Trenton, Brian Sparks of Renfrew and Jason (Denise) Sparks of Lakeport. Proud grandfather of Anisa, Andrea (deceased), Melissa, Tim, Jennifer, Amy, Stephen, Holly, Justin, Zackery, Riley and Allie. Great grandfather of Katie, Nathan, Emmalee, Tristan, Logan, Isla, Addie, and Nora and great-great grandfather of Skylar and Lexi. Melvin was the last surviving of his 13 siblings. The family will receive friends at the Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel, 30 Moira Street West (613-968-2273) on Thursday evening from 6:30 to 7:00 & 7:15 to 7:45 & 8:00 to 8:30 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at The Pentecostals of Quinte Church, 490 Dundas Street West, on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with the family receiving friends at the church from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Those desiring to attend the visitation and/or service are asked to RSVP by emailing rsvp@steelefuneralhome.ca . Include Sparks and the time you wish to attend in your email or call 613-968-2273. Cremation to follow. Inurnment at Mount Evergreen Cemetery at a later date. Arrangement entrusted to Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel, 30 Moira Street West 613-968-2273. If desired, Memorial Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
