Passed peacefully away at the Hugh Twomey Centre in Botwood on October 22, 2020 Melba Myrtle (Langdon) Boone in the presence of her family. Predeceased by her husband, Melvin, and siblings; Evelyn, Walter, Atwell, Gerald and Lester; and her parents, Arthur and Lucy (Rolfe) Langdon.
Leaving to mourn her brothers Ronald (Mae) and Alwin; sisters-in-law: Mildred Langdon, Sadie Langdon, Dorothy Boone (Dot) and Margaret Boone; brother-in-law Freeman Boone; daughters: Fronie (Joe) Smith; NS, Jean (Peter) Tansley, Verlie (Doug) Koch; ON, sons: Randy (Catherine), Rod (Kathleen), and Howard (Mary) NB; grandchildren: Bob Brown, Natalie Fitzpatrick, Catherine & Aaron Tansley, Tamara Sample, Carolyn Munn, Jeffrey Boone, Glenn & Sheldon Boone, Joshua Boone, Christopher and Nicholas Koch, Jasmine Waechter and 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Melba made many friends in her 94 years. She played Scrabble with some; worshipped with many; taught Sunday School and joined the Salvation Army Home League with the ladies in Cottrell’s Cove, then St. John’s West and laughed with all of them at one time or another. She was funny, giving and loving and if you got a hug from her, you would not have forgotten it. If you were one of her children, you can still remember her voice as she yelled from the porch to get inside for supper!
Melba, ever strong willed, and along with Melvin, loved the Lord with all her heart and faithfully taught her children to do the same. For that, we will be eternally grateful.
The family wishes to express thankfulness and appreciation to all the staff at the Twomey Centre for their loving care of our Mom for the past 10 Years.
