Obituary
Medicine Traveller was born in Thompson, Manitoba on Thursday, May 23, 1996 to his parents Debbie and Peter Ballantyne.
Medicine Traveller Charo Ballantyne, unexpectedly passed away, Saturday, January 4th, in Pukatawagan, Manitoba, at the age of 23 years.
“Meddy” was raise in Pukatawagan, Manitoba where his parents married and started a life in “Puk” as a family. Medicine was a very active young man, always on the go. He had many adventures mostly with his dad Peter, also known as “Charo”, they’d always go boating, hunting, camping, travelling to Lynn Lake by train tracks, by ski-doo or quad. He always enjoyed ski-doo riding with his siblings and following his big sister Bailey around. Their favorite thing to do together was sneaking off to go swimming during the summer. Any other season they’d be hanging with their childhood friends and cousins Timothy Dumas, Marilyn Castel, Marcel Castel, Bernadette Colomb, Quintina and Tyron Berens Francois.
Meddy grew to love all who walked in his path. He had so much respect for everyone and always had a big smile and many jokes to share. His adventures were his favourite stories to tell. The farthest he has ever travelled was to the BC border during a medicine walk. There was many that went. He was there with his sister Bailey and “lil bro” Aaron, and he even got the chance to spend a couple days in Jasper, Alberta.
Medicine also love playing guitar, drums, singing, hand drums. His humor will be greatly missed by all he knew.
Medicine leaves to mourn his passing, his daughters Zetta Caribou, Aluara Caribou; son Levon Ballantyne; parents Debbie and Peter Ballantyne; brothers Solomon (Hayle), Tron (Judy), Aaron (Angela); sisters Sheena (Kyle), Bailey (Donovan), Tipiskow (Thomas); aunties Margaret Ballantyne, Brenda Dumas, Dorreen Ballantyne, Lorraine Francois; uncles Alex (Bernadette) Hart, Lucien (Dehlia) Francois, Thomas Francois, Cornielius Francois, Ricky Francois, Allen (Penny) Ballantyne, Conrad Dumas, Randy Dumas, Robin Dumas, Harvey Dumas, Brian (Lorna) Bighetty, Norton (Stacey) Francois; great aunts Juliette Colomb, Emma Bighetty; great uncle George Ballantyne; great grandmother Mary Ballantyne; grandmother Marie Louise Dumas; and many relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
