Maxwell Elihu Welsh
August 22, 1932 – December 19, 2020
Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at the Lions Manor Nursing Home on Saturday, December 19, 2020, Maxwell Welsh of Islington, aged 88 years.
Predeceased by his parents, Belah and Ethel Welsh; sister, Edith (John) Cole; brothers, Robert James (Lillian), Stephen, Earl, and Belah Jr.; parents-in-law, Ernest and Lydia Branton; brothers-in-law, Charlie Legge, Max Legge, Lloyd Bishop, Hedley Branton, and Raymond Riggs; and sister-in-law, Velma Hiscock (Henry George).
Leaving to mourn and to celebrate his life are his beloved wife of 62 years, Jessie; children, Debbie, Jerry (Suzanne), Beverly (Dennis), Tony (Crystal), Gail (Frank), and Paula; grandchildren, Tehia (Devin), Trista (Lee), Taylor (Chase), Samantha (Matt), Cassidy (Liam), Jessica (Brandon), Kodi, Emma, Madison, Cameron, and Caitlyn; great-grandchildren, Ashton, Addison, and Max; brother, George (Ina); sisters, Minnie Legge, Vera (Richard) Chaney, Ida Legge, Mabel Bishop, and Phyllis Welsh; sisters-in-law, Madge Welsh, Chris Welsh, Alva Welsh, Mary Riggs, Lizzie (Calvin) Morris, Myrtle (Wilson) Parrott, and Helen Branton; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Max was an avid outdoorsman, he loved trouting, hunting, berry picking, fishing, and nature in general. Digging worms and packing a lunch was one of his favourite things to do in anticipation of getting in the great outdoors.
Due to the restrictions of Covid-19, the visitation and service to celebrate Maxwell’s life will be private.
