Obituary of Mavis Petrie
Vera Mavis Elizabeth Petrie, known to her family and friends as Mavis, was born on July 17, 1941 in Provost, Alberta to parents, Wesley & Elva Ferrier.
On October 9, 1959 Mavis married Jim Petrie. Together, they raised their three children on the farm north of Chauvin, Alberta.
Mavis passed away on November 4, 2020, surrounded by her family, at the age of 79 years.
She will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of over 60 years, Jim; children, Louise (Don) Paré, Danny (Rita) Petrie and Rod (Val) Petrie; grandchildren, Leo (Amanda) Paré, Aric (Ashley) Paré, Brenna (Andrew) Condin, Brett Petrie and Danielle Petrie; great grandchildren, Grayson, Rylan, Everly, Maisy, Dekker, Bryken, Keslee, Brynn, Caleigh, Merren and Cale; brother, Calvin (Joan) Ferrier; sister, Iris DePasquale; brother in law, Ken Hawtin; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Mavis was predeceased by her parents, Wesley & Elva; sister, Allyce Hawtin; brother in law, Lou DePasquale.
