It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Maurice at the age of 65.
He leaves behind his wife, Angelika of 47 years; children, Paul (Crystal), René, Janelle (Rich) Brandsma; cherished and beautiful grandchildren, Brittany, Samantha, Myah, Aleena, Nathaniel; sisters, Carolyn (Menno) and Susan (Ernie); furry kids, Teddy, Audie and Tilly as well as numerous family and friends.
Maurice is predeceased by parents, Rene and Gertie; brother, Richard and sisters, Debra Jean and Gayle;
He was born in Bonnyville, Alberta. At the age of 6, his parents moved to St. Albert. He followed in his father’s footsteps in the transportation industry where he became a pioneer and leader. Maurice and Angelika purchased their own transport company (Ashton Transport) 1989-2016. Maurice lived a full and exciting life, golfing, fishing, NASCAR races, classic cars shows and many trips to their home in Phoenix. Maurice made friends everywhere and was admired by many. He will be truly missed and not forgotten.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a Private service limited to 75 people by invitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 31, 2020 with viewing at 9:00 a.m. at Connelly-McKinley, St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert, AB.
