OBITUARIES
Maureen Elizabeth Rodger
1954 – 2020
It is with profound sadness that we share the untimely passing of Maureen Rodger. She passed away on February 8th, 2020, surrounded by those closest to her.
She was predeceased by her son Krisjan Vincent; her parents, Ian and Janet Rodger, and her brother Allister Rodger. She will forever be remembered and missed by her daughter Jennifer Vincent (Dylan), grandchildren Jude, Sloane and Eve Dufort; brothers Jim (Susanne) and Bill Rodger (Suzanne); many nieces, nephews and friends.
Maureen was born in Pine Falls, Mb., where she developed a passion for music, including bagpipes and piano. She became an accomplished and decorated piper, and dedicated many Saturday mornings to practicing, much to the dismay of her nearby Wolseley neighbours.
Maureen was most at peace when in nature and had an enviable green thumb. Maybe it was being born on St. Patrick’s Day or her Irish blood, but she could always immediately find one or more four leaf clovers in any clover patch.
In her later years she developed a real penchant for travelling, with one of her most profound trips being a solo adventure to Churchill, Mb.
Maureen was truly kind to all she encountered, always putting the needs of others before her own. She had a very generous nature and supported many charitable efforts despite her modest means.
She loved her family with all her heart. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother to her three lovable grandchildren.
We are all taking great comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her beloved son, Krisjan.
There will be a celebration of her wonderful life on February 15th, 2020. It will be held between 1-4pm at 37 Kingsway.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Cancer Care Manitoba or a charity of your choice.
“Wish you here”
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Maureen Elizabeth Rodger 1954 2020..
