Obituary for
Mary Worobec (nee Hoyda)
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mary Worobec, of Shepherd’s Care Barrhead, formerly of Cherhill, AB, at the age of 94 years.
Mary leaves to mourn her daughter, Dianne (Garry) Lovich; three sons, Dennis (Sharon), Jim and Marvin (Jackie); six grandsons, Stephen (Yvonne) Lovich, Michael (Jessica) Lovich, David Lovich (Andrea Donahue), Tim Worobec (Patricia Flores), Nicholas Worobec and Lee Worobec; granddaughter, Samantha Worobec; eight great-grandchildren, Peyton, Emma and Blake Lovich, Reata, Renelle and Raelyn Lovich and Sophia and Colton Lovich; and sister-in-law, Joan Hoyda. Predeceased by husband, Michael; parents, Stephan and Eva Hoyda; sister, Annie (John) Hladky; and brothers, John Hoyda and Mike (Alice) Hoyda; and daughter-in-law, Margaret Worobec.
Mary was a farmer and a gardener at heart before moving to Chateau Lac Ste Anne, Onoway, AB, then to Shepherd’s Care in Barrhead, AB.
The family expresses their appreciation to Chateau Lac Ste Anne in Onoway and Shepherd’s Care Barrhead, and a special thank you to Dr. Tawfik, Dr. Visser, and the nursing staff at Barrhead Healthcare Centre.
Divine Liturgy Wednesday, December 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Cherhill, AB. Interment in Cherhill Cemetery with Reverend Slavko Dumec officiating.
In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to Cherhill Greek Catholic Church and Cemetery, Box 150, Cherhill, AB T0E 0J0 or a charity of one’s choice.
Due to the Covid 19 restrictions there will be no public service and a private family service will be held.
