Mary Lavelle 1925 2020

Obituary of Mary Lavelle
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother, Mary Lavelle, on Sunday, February 9, 2020. Mary passed away peacefully with family by her side. She was predeceased by her parents, Hans and Elise Christiansen; husband Peter; sisters, Olga and Esther; and brothers, Paul and Harold. Mary is survived by her daughter Maureen; daughter Sheila and her son Kenneth; daughter Patricia; son Kevin (Catherine) and their children Fergus, Hillary (AJ Landon) and Simon; and daughter Nancy (Steve Jacobson) and their sons Callum and Patrick (Shelby Pflanzner); brother Elmer and many nieces and nephews. Mary was fiercely independent with a strong and resilient spirit. She was never one to shy away from doing what she thought was the right thing to do and was always a hard worker. Later in life she spent much of her time working in her yard and garden. She always seemed to know how and when a plant or tree should be pruned or otherwise nurtured. Mary loved nature and in her later years she enjoyed watching the sunrise from her east-facing window at Wintergreene Estates. We will miss her dearly. Mary’s last days were spent at Grace Hospice in Regina where she received compassionate and respectful care. A private family memorial service will be held. Family interment service will be held in Forest Home Cemetery, Ponoka, AB at a later date. Friends so wishing, may make donations in her memory, to the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK, S4R 8P6.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Mary
