Mary Rosarii Wright 2020

Mary Rosarii Wright
October 07, 1954 – December 02, 2020

Mary Rosarii (O’Brien) Wright passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, age 66 years.
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, sister, grandmother. Mary now joins with those family members who have travelled ahead of her, parents Roy and Nellie O’Brien and baby sister Janet Marie, parents-in-law James and Nan Wright. Cherishing her memory with love are her husband Ian, son Ian Brien (Patricia) and grandkids Caitlin and Brien who adored their grandmother “Sammy”, sisters Dorothy (Walter Milley), Maureen (Ted Rowe), Anna (Gerry Tapper), brothers Gord (Rhonda) and Roy (Deanna), brothers-in-law Donald (Glenna), Sandy and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews.
Born and raised on Water Street in St. John’s and raised in the home above her father’s music store, Mary had great love and affection for her family and music. She had an extraordinary singing voice that would be the envy of the angels. She sang with many choirs in the past, including travelling to Montreal with Sr. Kathrine Bellamy’s Expo ‘67 glee club. She spent many happy summers at the family home in Topsail Pond where she developed her love of nature and wildlife. There, Mary formed friendships with the Topsail Pond crowd who really became a larger extended family every summer. Most important, Topsail Pond brought Ian into Mary’s life, forming a loving relationship in their teens. Mary and Ian were that cool couple… the handsome young Scottish blonde guy with the beautiful long dark-haired girl, together all the time! Mary worked in real estate and life insurance. Most of her career was with WHSCC where she worked with her sister, Anna, for 15 years and formed many special friendships with her work family. Mary loved music, nature, and being in the country. She had a strong faith, especially to the Blessed Virgin Mary. While we feel she was taken from us too young, we cherish the happy times we had with her and we know our very special guardian angel will always look after us.
A private service for immediate family will be held on Saturday at Cauls Chapel, 84 Lemarchant Road. Donations in her memory may be made to the Roman Catholic Basilica of St. John the Baptist, St. John’s.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Mary Rosarii Wright 2020..
