Mary Jane Edmondson
February 25, 1949 – July 12, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Jane Edmondson (Nash) at home on Sunday, July 12th, 2020 at the age of 71; beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt and thoughtful friend. Predeceased by her father James Nash and mother and father in-law Ernest and Lena Edmondson. Leaving to mourn are her husband Anthony (Tony) Edmondson, mother Alfreda Nash, sisters Genevieve Nicks(Bert), Marion Nash and brother Gerard Nash (Sharon). Also left to mourn are in-laws; Mike and Agnes Edmondson, Mark and Kenneth Wilson and Judy Swan. Janie was a special aunt and will be remembered fondly by her nieces and nephews; Stephan (Kristin), Jillian (Justin), Leah, Laura (Daniel), Evan and great-nieces and great-nephew.
Janie was a caring, compassionate and loving person. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. Janie loved her family and was always there to lend an ear and brighten the lives of others. She had a natural affinity for children and animals and was a loyal friend to many.
Janie loved writing and story telling. In one of her pieces “The Old Homestead” Janie described memories of her grandparents home: “the bricks and mortar only tell us how the house was built but the real stories of those who lived in it are held within the walls”. Similarly, Janie’s life and passing are only dates marking her time and while time may move on, her memories with us will live forever. On the eternal shores our souls shall meet to part no more.
Cremation has taken place. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, 84 Lemarchant Road. Visitation on Thursday, July 16 from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm and funeral service at the Basilica Cathedral on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 1:00 pm. To view the virtual service please visit thebasilica.ca/
