Obituary for
Mary Elizabeth Atwill (McCrae)
Our beloved mother, Mary, passed away on January 7, 2020. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband, Jim, her parents, John and Isabel McCrae, her sisters, Rita ‘’Bonnie’’ and Bella, her brothers, John and infant twins, Charles and David. She was the last of her generation on both the McCrae and Atwill sides.
She was the much loved mother of Jim (Pat), Ron (Lynda) and Barbara, and a loving, though involuntarily, estranged grandmother of Jamie. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends. Special mention is made of nieces, Gail, Jo-Anne and Diane, and nephew Rick and Ellen.
Mom, in her 99th year, loved and followed current events, politics and was an ardent animal lover.
Friends are invited to visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road (at Aviation Parkway), Ottawa, on Friday, January 10, 2020 from 10 a.m.,until the time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 12 p.m. A reception will follow.
We wish to thank the doctors and wonderful nurses in the neurosciences department at the Civic Hospital on the second and fifth floors.
In memory of Mom, donations for the Ottawa Humane Society (www.ottawahumane.ca), the Ottawa Mission (www.ottawamission.com) or to the Shepherds of Good Hope (www.sghottawa.com) would be dear to her heart.
