Mary Elizabeth “Bette” Crewe
North Sydney/Edmonton
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bette Crewe, dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, on Friday, February 28, 2020, in Edmonton at the age of 89.
Born September 20, 1930, in Upper North Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Sidney R. and Pearl E. (Chislett) Jackson.
Betty was a devoted member of St. Matthew Wesley United Church in North Sydney until her move to Edmonton in 2016.
Bette is survived by her son David Ross (Mehran) Crewe, grandchildren Ruth Ann (Travis) Middleton, Golshan Crewe and Mona (Sean) Lynds, by her sisters, Norma (Roy) Hemming, Esther (Sandy) Evans and a brother Lyman (Tingy) Jackson.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband H. Ross Crewe, son Frank Crewe, grandson Frank Crewe Jr. and a brother Alan Jackson.
There will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, at St. Matthew Wesley United Church, North Sydney, with Rev. Stephen Mills officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.
