La célébration de
Mary Claire Hardie
19 mars 1945 –
16 octobre 2020
Peacefully, on Friday October 16, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Toronto, at the age of 75. Beloved wife and best friend of John for 54 years.
Claire was born in New Brunswick. She and her mother moved to Toronto in 1954. Upon graduation from secretarial school, she began her career as a legal secretary. Her desire for knowledge led to an honours degree in political science. Opportunities presented at the law firm encouraged her to enroll at Ryerson where she obtained degrees in purchasing and facility management. She obtained a degree in disaster recovery from the Disaster Recovery Institute. She also enjoyed special interest courses through continuing education.
Claire possessed a very gentle nature. She was not judgemental. Her sense of humour and listening skills allowed everyone to feel at ease with her. A trait she mastered was her stubbornness. Your suggestions must pass her stubborn streak and clearly cooking, and cleaning did not. Conversations were always enlightening.
Claire was preceded in death by her stepfather, John, and her mother, Mary. She is survived by her husband John and numerous relatives.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family service has been held.
If desired, donations may be made to the organization of your choice.
