Marty Sheldrick
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Martin Irvine Sheldrick who ended his battle with illness on May 24th, 2020, at the Kemptville Hospital at the age of 66.
Born March 20, 1954 to the late Jean and Hartley Sheldrick. Marty spent his years cruising the roads and befriending many along the way. He loved road trips, golf, hockey, sweets and cars but most of all he loved his family.
Marty will be forever remembered by his wife Mariann, his ‘babe’ whom he married on September 10th, 1977; his two daughters Jennifer and Carrie whom he cherished deeply; his son in law Dale who was the son he never had but just the one he would have chose; and his two grandchildren, Tobey and Cooper, the two who made him a Dooda and abundant joy.
He will also be greatly missed by his brother Bernard (Coreen), the family of his predeceased brother Leonard(Monique), his mother-in-law Hilda Vandekemp (late Art), his brother and sisters-in-laws Wally Vandekemp (Sherry), Carol Vandekemp, Nancy Blokland (Sid), Brenda Geurkink (Ron) and Stephen (Amy); as well as his nieces, nephews, cousins, and the many friends he has made along the way.
Funeral Arrangements
Due to Covid restrictions a drive-in memorial service using an F.M. transmitter will be held in the parking lot of Trinity Bible Church, 4101 Stagecoach Rd, Osgoode, on Saturday, May 30th at 1 p.m. There will be no church access. Donations to Kemptville Hospital or Compassion Canada (www.compassion.ca) would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
