Martin Joseph Broaders (May 22nd, 1953 – May 8th, 2020)
I use to think that the lucky ones in life were the ones who made it to the 90 plus years of birthday celebrations on the NTV news, but I realize that the number one reaches in life is irrelevant compared to what you do from 0 to your final number, which for Mart, was 66 years.
Martin Joseph Broaders: The Always Proud and Loving Father, the Happiest and Luckiest Husband, The Wonderful Son, The Stellar Brother, The Loyal Friend, The Joyous Hockey Fanatic and Athlete, The Contented Outdoor Lover, The Tireless Volunteer, and The Hardworking Engineer. Those are just some of the wondrous titles he gained from 0-66.
Through Shirley, Bryan, and Brent Mart created his own family, the absolute loves of his life. His and Shirley’s face lit up in the presence of Bryan and Brent because they were indeed their presents. Every one of their accomplishments was quietly celebrated and filled with love. Every hockey game was watched and analyzed with such interest and passion, you learned to love hockey from just being in their company. Mart was surrounded by love and will be thus so until the end of eternity. On May 8th he never had to leave earth to get to Heaven, it was given to him through love.
Leaving to mourn and celebrate his life his wife Shirley, sons Bryan and Brent; Brothers: James (Isabel), Brendan (Brenda), Ron; Sisters: Maybelle (Heber), Maragaret (Eric), Jo Anne; 11 nieces and nephews, 8 great nieces and nephews; as well as a large circle of relatives, friends, coworkers, the community of Tilting and the Town of Fogo Island.
Predeceased by: parents: Kevin and Louise Broders; Brothers Ignatius and Aiden; Brothers-in-Law: Anthony Allison and Justin Burke; Co-brothers Walter Bryan and Peter Penton; nephew Jodey Broders, and nephew-in-law, Jeffrey Penton.
God Bless you Mart. We love you infinitely to eternity. xo
