Martha’s Obituary
Magdalena Karoline Pfoh, ‘Martha’ Pfoh, passed away at Fairview Continuing Care on Friday, August 28, 2020, at 78 years of age.
Martha was a nurse’s aid, but in the later years, she was recognized as a school custodian. She was so very passionate at St. Thomas More: she sang in the choir, decorated the church for the holidays and made stoles. She was so very active away from St. Thomas More, as well: she loved to go for long walks, jigsaw puzzle pieces still show up somehow in couch cushions. In the latter years, she’d help Alphonse watch T.V.
She is pre-deceased by her parents Heinich & Friedrika Luken; siblings Otto Luken, Alphonse Luken, Henry Luken, Ignatz Luken, Maria Luken, Joseph Luken, Elle Samson, Irna Neuman.
Martha is survived by her husband Alphonse; children Hubert Luken (Marika Vanderburg) of Calgary (AB), Gregory (Penny) of Edmonton (AB), Connie (Alan) Piecharka of Fairview (AB), Cindy Bellamy of Kelowna (BC); 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; siblings Hubert Luken, Fr. Aloys Luken, Paula Thoma, Agnes Breunig; numerous nephews and nieces.
