It is with deep sadness that the family of the late MARTHA JANE DRAKES of Grand Bank announces her passing at the Blue Crest Home in Grand Bank on Monday, December 28, 2020, at the age of 89.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are son, Norman Jr. (Bernice) of CBS; daughter, Frances Barnes (Jim Caul) of St. John’s; 2 grandchildren, Joanne Bourgeois (Gilles) of NWT, Corey Drakes (Claire) of AB; 3 great-grandchildren, Gregory, Madison, Aleesa; plus a large circle of extended family and friends.
Martha Jane was predeceased by her husband, Norman Drakes; parents, Arthur & Esther Skinner; parents-in-law; Onslow & Annie Drakes; brother, Walter Skinner; sister, Georgina Herridge; son-in-law, Angus Barnes.
As per Martha Jane’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
Inurnment to take place at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Grand Bank at a later date.
In Martha Jane’s memory, donations may be made to the Grand Bank Salvation Army Cemetery Fund.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Wiseman’s Funeral Homes – Grand Bank.
