Obituary of Marlin “Molly” Sabharwal (nee Mathews)
Of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Saturday, October 24, 2020, in her 81st year. Beloved wife for 47 years to Vinod K. “Vino” Sabharwal. Dearly loved mother of Robert Sabharwal of Boston, MA, and Nadia Hartford (René) of St. Thomas. Cherished grandmother of Rocco Hartford of St. Thomas. Dear sister of Edmon Mathyous (Suham Thom) of Windsor. Molly was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Jamila (née Mansour) Mathews, as well as three brothers. She was born January 9, 1940 in Baghdad, Iraq. Molly and Vino formerly operated the OLCO Gas Station & Variety Store, Sunset Road and Vino & Molly’s Variety Store, Ross St., St. Thomas. She was also a former employee of Es Wire. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or public service. Memorial donations to the St. Thomas Elgin Food Bank will be gratefully acknowledged. Arrangements entrusted to the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).
