Powers, Marlene
(formerly Genier)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marlene Powers on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at the age of 73. She was the devoted and proud mother to her sons Jean Genier (Kelly) and Paul Genier (Darya), remembered by their father Jean I. Genier. Cherished and proud grandmother to Owen, Luke, James, Maksim, Sasha and Stas. Marlene leaves behind her sisters Eleanor (late Robert Toll), Doris (late Angus Maisonneuve), Beatrice (late Gary Knuff) and Joan (Maurice Demers). She was the daughter of the late Mathew Powers and Margaret Way and is predeceased by her brothers Cecil, Derick and Patrick and sisters Sylvia and Marcella. Marlene will be lovingly remembered by her nephews, nieces, friends and family. A memorial will be held at a later date. A special thank you to Nathalia Hernandez and the staff at Granite Ridge Care Community especially those working on Orchard View floor. For those wishing, donations can be made to the Royal Ottawa.
