Obituary of Marlene Mary Blakeley
BLAKELEY, Marlene Mary (nee Amey)
May 13, 1938 – October 18, 2020
Graduate Nursing Class of 1959
Marlene passed away peacefully but unexpectedly at the Kingston General Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Bruce and her parents Harold and May Amey. She is survived by her four loving sons Brian (Elisa), Bruce (Cindy), Robert (Karen) and Barry as well as her adoring grandchildren Matthew, Brandon and Cameron. She will be sadly missed by her dear friend Florence MacDonald as well as her extended family and friends. A heartfelt thank you is extended to the staff at KGH for the kind and compassionate care that she received.
Marlene’s family will receive friends at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston on Friday, October 23, 2020 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm. A service celebrating her life will be held in the James Reid Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 11:00 am. COVID protocols will be in effect and RSVP’s are mandatory for both the visitation and service and can be made by calling the funeral home at 613-544-3411 between the hours of 9:00 am – 1:00 pm or online at (www.jamesreidfuneralhome.com). A private family burial will take place at Cataraqui Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Cooke’s-Portsmouth United Church or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
