Mark Wilson October 18 1989

Obituary
On Sunday, February 2, 2020, our free-spirited and irreplaceable Mark set out on a journey he had made many times before. It was one of his favorite things to do with his ‘Braaap’ buddies and their sleds. They looked forward to a day of chasing that feeling of being ‘alive and free’ as they carved their way through the powder enjoying the beauty of the mountains, the fresh air and the camaraderie of friends. That was their plan, the mountain had another. One that they could not have predicted. In an instant, the mountain would speak and have the last word for the day. Mark’s buddies would come home without him but not before they made valiant attempts to find him. It was not to be. With heavy hearts they would have to leave him behind. Search & Rescue volunteers, avalanche experts, the RCMP and their canine unit also searched in the following days without the outcome we all had prayed for. And so we wait for the mountain to give him back to us. Until that time, we grieve, in despair at times while we wait.

Words are inadequate in expressing our gratitude for all the expressions of comfort and sympathy, too many to list here. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.
