Obituary
Evegroen, Mark Johnn…passed away peacefully with his wife by his side at the Campbellford Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2020 at the age of 51. He came into this world with a fighting spirit that he carried with him always. Mark is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 16 years, Laura Evegroen nee Brooking. His contagious laugh, beat-the-odds approach to life and amazing ability to continuously do a lot more than anyone thought possible will be missed by all of his family including his father Cornelis & the late Shirley Evegroen, brothers Willem “Tom” and Cornelis “Jan” Evegroen, parents in law Barry & Joan Brooking, brother in law Ernie Brooking and sisters in law Christina Terry (Greg Finlay) and Adrienne Brooking (Chris Petherick). Known to his nieces and nephews as Uncle Markie-Poo, Uncle Mark and Great Uncle Mark, he will be forever loved by Ashley (Jesse), Veronica, Christien (Courtney), Lloyd, William, Mackenzie, Austin, Gregory, Connor, Ava, Aiden, Emily, Teagan, Taylor, Jacob and his predeceased niece, Gracey. A hero to many and outgoing with all, he will be forever remembered by his many friends, aunts, uncles and cousins. A graveside service will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery on Monday, September 28th, 2020 at 2:00 PM. Masks are not mandatory, but strongly recommended. Due to COVID restrictions you must call 705-653-1179 to book your place at the service, as space is limited. You will be asked to provide your name and number for attendance tracking. If desired, memorial donations to the Campbellford Memorial Hospital Foundation – ER Dept. or the Sick Kids Foundation – Cardiology Floor would be appreciated by the family.
