Mark’s Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our precious loved one at Dr. Y.K.Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre, Brookfield on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, Mark Button age 85 years of Wareham.
Predeceased by his parents; Cecil and Hannah Button, sisters; Charlotte, Beatrice, Alice, Catherine, Geraldine Hunt , brothers; Cecil John and Gilbert.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife; Mae of 62 years, daughters; Margaret England (John), Susan Payne (Bernie), son; Ross (Penny), grandchildren; Amanda Bonner (Brad), Laura Jaji (Kehinde Kenny), Jenissa Feltham (Andrew), Michael Button (Krista), Hannah Button (Brandon Pritchett), Catherine Payne, great-grandchildren; Bria and Nate Bonner,Eniafe (Eni) and Adetoni (Toni) Jaji , Brieghton Feltham, Arika and Russ Button, Greyson Pritchett , brothers; Stewart (Cindy), Donald (Classie), Frank (Anne), Roland (Lucy), , sister; Frances Pickett (Leslie), brother-in-law; John Hunt, a large circle of other relatives, many friends and an Honourable mention of a dear friend; Scott Walsh.
As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers donations can be made in Mark’s memory to The Button Family and a decision on monetary disbursements will be made at a later date.
Due to Covid – 19 restrictions, there will be no public visitation. A private family service by invitation only will take place on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at 2 P.M. at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Wareham with Rev. Daphne Parsons officiating. Interment will follow at the Anglican Church Cemetery, Wareham.
Masks have to be worn upon entering the Church and throughout the funeral service . We appreciate your support at this difficult time, the health and safety of family, general public and staff is very important.
Mark was born on July 3, 1935 at Silver Fox Island, he married Mae Firmage of Wareham on November 14, 1957 at Greenspond and had three children. They resided in Wareham. Mark was a man who loved his family immensely and a man of great faith. On July 25, 1972 he accepted Christ as his own personal Saviour, he has left a legacy of character and faith.
A very special thank you to Dr. Carl Kennedy and staff of James Paton Memorial Hospital, also our sincere gratitude for the excellent care he received at Brookfield Hospital during the last two weeks of his life. The staff in the palliative care were exceptional. To, two very special women; Denise Button and Laura Collins who tenderly cared for Mark these past four months, ” he may not have always remembered your name but he never forgot how you made him feel” Your kindness will never be forgotten. Also to Horwoods Home Care Services, Thank you.
