Obituary of Marjorie McArthur
Peacefully with her daughter by her side, at Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. Marjorie “Marj” Irene McArthur (nee Wilson), of Owen Sound, at the age of 90 years, is now home with her dearly loved husband Lawrence McArthur of 64 years (2016) and her two sons Terry (2006) and Bradley (2007). Loving mother of Lyn Smith of B.C., and Laurie Smith (Jeff) of Owen Sound. Mother-in-law of Charlene McArthur and Marianne McArthur. Proud grandmother of 9 and great grandmother of 11. Also remembered by her sisters Velma Specht and Maxine Young. Predeceased by her parents Archie and Gertha Wilson, her sons Terry and Bradley and her siblings Anna and Bob.
A private funeral service will be held at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 (519) 376-7492 on December 21, 2020 with Rev. Dr. Keith Sweeting of First Baptist Church in Owen Sound officiating. All attendees are required to wear a mask and follow physical distancing guidelines. Family and friends are welcome to watch the service at 12:00 noon via livestream by selecting the ‘LIVE STREAMING’ menu option at the top right corner of the funeral home website (woodfuneralhome.ca). Interment in McNeil Cemetery, Priceville. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to the Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce – Chapman House as an expression of sympathy.
