Marjorie Elizabeth Sarah Morton
1926-2020
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Marjorie
Elizabeth Sarah (Beckingham) Morton, formerly of Kentville and New
Ross, NS and more recently of Clyde River, PEI, on Monday, February 3,
2020 in the QE Hospital, Charlottetown. She had a long, happy life, 94
years young, her birthday was just three weeks ago. Marjorie
was the beloved wife of the late Bradford Ashley Morton. She is
survived by Keith, Wolfville and Bonnie (Charles) Scott, Canoe Cove,
PEI. She was the very proud grandmother of Nathan (Jackie) Metzler,
(Mexico) and Michelle (Justin) Wilson of Calgary. Marjorie was one of
five children of Robert Chelmsford and Priscilla (MacConnell)
Beckingham of Dalhousie, NB. She was predeceased by brothers, Robert
Stewart and Alonzo Chelmsford; and is survived by brother, Kenneth
(Doreen) of Dalhousie, NB and sister, Hazel Collins of Kentville.
Marjorie was a member of the Kentville Volunteer Fire
Department’s Ladies’ Auxiliary and the Kentville
Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Order
of the Eastern Star. She was a bit of a social butterfly. During her
lifetime, she was an avid camper and enjoyed any kind of dancing –
including square dancing. In fact, she was dancing with one of the
nurses just last week at the community care centre where she was
residing. Now Marjorie will be dancing once again with husband and
son, Terry. I’m sure her dance card will be
filled. Cremation has taken place and there will
be no visitation, by request. A combined Order of the Eastern Star and
funeral service, followed by a reception, will take place at 11:00
a.m. Monday, February 10, 2020 in the White Family Funeral Home,
Kentville, Dr. Bob Wilson officiating. Burial will take place in the
Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to
Kentville Volunteer Fire Department or the Heart and Stroke
Foundation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White
Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
