Une lumière brillante a été éteinte. Marjorie Chantal Deveau, de Lac Doucette, est décédée le 17 septembre 2020 à l’âge de 93. Né le 13 mai 1927 à Springdale en Clare, Nouvelle-Écosse, elle était une fille d’Eddie (à Léander) Deveau et d’Annie (à Vital) Deveau et laisse dans le deuil ses enfants, Richard (Rosaline) , Karen Melanson (Joël), Suzanne (Joseph Landry) et Gordon (Krista Fletcher); petits-enfants, Tammy Deal, Jennifer Robichaud, Alan Doucette, Simon Deveau, Chantal Deveau, Christian Deveau, Jean-Luc Deveau et Gabrielle Deveau; et de nombreux arrière-petits-enfants, nièces et neveux. Outre ses parents, elle fut prédécédée par son mari, Josephat Deveau; frère George; et sœurs, Etta, Katherine et Lizzie.
Marjorie a vécu une vie bien remplie. Elle passait son temps à danser, chanter dans la chorale, faire du bowling, jouer aux fléchettes et au billard américain, tricoter, faire de la dentelle et des couvertures de lit. Elle aimait jouer à toutes sortes de jeux de cartes mais aimait particulièrement le bridge. Son passe-temps favori était le golf au terrain du Club de Golf en Clare où elle a joué jusqu’à ses 91 ans et a réussi un trou en un, au quatrième trou en 1985. L’esprit indépendant de Margie a inspiré sa famille et ses amis. Elle a parcouru sa Honda pendant des kilomètres et des kilomètres pour passer du temps avec ses proches, ses enfants, petits-enfants, arrière-petits-enfants et amis.
La crémation a eu lieu sous la direction de la maison funéraire Meteghan Funeral Home. Un service funéraire aura lieu le 3 octobre à 14h00 au cimetière Saint-Vincent-de-Paul à la Rivière-aux-Saumons. En raison de la pandémie de COVID-19, il n’y aura pas de réception après son service funéraire.
Des dons peuvent être faits à «Jackie Comeau and Friends Cancer Help Fund Association» ou au «St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery Fund».

A shining light has been extinguished. Marjorie Chantal Deveau of Lake Doucette, passed away at home on September 17, 2020 at the age of 93. Born May 13, 1927 in Springdale, Nova Scotia she was a daughter of the late Eddie (à Léander) Deveau and Annie (à Vital) Deveau and is survived by her children, Richard (Rosaline), Karen Melanson (Joël), Suzanne (Joseph Landry) and Gordon (Krista Fletcher); grandchildren, Tammy Deal, Jennifer Robichaud, Alan Doucette, Simon Deveau, Chantal Deveau, Christian Deveau, Jean-Luc Deveau and Gabrielle Deveau; and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Josephat Deveau; brother, George; and sisters, Etta, Katherine and Lizzie.
Marjorie lived a full life. She filled her time dancing, singing in the choir, bowling, playing darts and pool, knitting, tatting doilies and making homemade quilts. She enjoyed playing all kinds of card games but was particularly fond of bridge. Her favorite pastime was golfing at the Clare Golf and Country Club where she played until she was 91 and had a hole in one on the fourth hole in 1985. Margie’s independent spirit inspired her family and friends. She drove her Honda civic miles and miles to spend time with those most dear to her, namely her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.
Cremation has taken place under the care of the Meteghan Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on October 3, 2020 at 2 PM in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery, Salmon River. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic there will be no reception following her graveside service.
Donations may be made to the Jackie Comeau and Friends Cancer Help Fund Association or to the St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery Fund.
