Obituary of Marion Dawn Walker
WALKER, Marion Dawn (Rafuse) – 83 of Granville Centre passed away March 25, 2020 at Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born and raised in Young’s Cove, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Susie (Guest) Rafuse. Marion began her working career in food services at Casey’s Fish House and then the cafeteria at ARRA until her retirement. She was a baking machine. Everyone in the family could always count on a custom-made cake for their birthday or wedding. It was always a treat to walk into the house and smell the fresh baked bread. What she enjoyed the most was getting the family together for any occasion, even if we were too loud, and she especially loved Christmas. Marion is survived by her husband of 61 years Douglas; children Brenda (Russell), Marlene (Henry), Anna (Ron) and Robert (Darlene); granddaughters – Linda, Nicole, Michelle, Keoni and Janelle. She also is survived by sisters, Irene and Gloria along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Marion was predeceased by siblings Eleanor, Angus, Hilton, Hallet and Yvonne. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at Grandview Manor and Mountain Lea Lodge for their care and compassion. Donations in Marion’s memory may be made to the Recreation Department of Mountain Lea Lodge. Online condolences may be made at www.kaulbachfamilyfuneralhome.com
