Marion Richards 19462020

Marion Richards
1946-2020
Richards,
Marion Jean 74 of Broad Cove, NS
It is with
great sadness that we announce the passing of Marion, which occurred
on May 24th at Fisherman’s Memorial Hospital in Lunenburg. In her early
life she worked at the Registrar’s office of Dalhousie University in Halifax.
She returned to Broad Cove to care for her parents, and eventually
raise her family. Marion lived life to the fullest, always
appreciating time spent with family and friends. She had a passion for
flower gardening and although she is gone, her gardens continue to
bloom. She loved birds and took great pleasure in watching them
– especially the humming birds and chickadees.
She sailed on the Bluenose II and took a flight in a hot air balloon.
Her musical taste ranged from Aled Jones to Zeppelin, but she was
particularly fond of Metallica whom she saw in concert twice. She was
a published author having co-written a book on the history of Broad
Cove with her lifelong friend and designated sister, Carole Skinner.
Marion was an artist whose original works of stained glass are now all
over the world.
Marion was
born in Bridgewater and was the only child of the late Eric and Mary
(Antle) Conrad. She is survived by her loving husband David, her sons
Jonathan and Stefan (Andrea) and her grandchildren Parker, Noah,
Jackson and Brinley. The family wishes to express their appreciation
for the compassionate care Marion received while at the
Fisherman’s Memorial Hospital in Lunenburg.
A celebration
of Marion’s life will be held at a later date, due to
Covid-19 restrictions. Arrangements are under the direction of the
R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville, where on-line condolences may be
made bu visiting www.corkumfuneralhome.ca
