Marion Nelson 19362020

Marion Nelson
1936-2020
Marion Nelson, 84, of Forest Dale Home and
formerly of Curryville passed away peacefully on September 30th, 2020
at the home.
Marion
was born on February 20, 1936 the daughter of the late Archie and
Viola (Brewster) Hawkes.
She worked for Maritime Farm Supply Ltd for 20 years
as accountant office manager until her retirement. Marion
was known for her organizational skills and also for her quick
wit. She was respected by all who had the privilege to work
with her. She always made the best of every situation. She
always saw the glass half full and not half empty. She loved
family gatherings, as they were close coming from a family with nine
children. Marion also loved her home in Curryville and spent a lot of
time tending to her beautiful flower gardens. She will be
remembered for her big smile and her laugh. She liked to have fun and
was sharp as a tack even in her later years. We will miss her but we
know she is having a wonderful family reunion with all her loved ones
that have gone before her. “See the new life I am
beginning and not the one that I have ended.”
She will be sadly missed by her daughter,
Mary Reid of Moncton; sons, Wendall Nelson (Karen) of Burlington, ON,
Dale Nelson (Tony) of Toronto, ON and Joseph “Joe” Nelson of
Curryville; daughter-in-law, Darlene Nelson of Dartmouth; her
treasured grandchildren, Bruce, Robert, Kevin, Chris, Nancy, Lee,
Jackie, Stephanie, Jamie, Nathan and Amanda; great-grandchildren, Max,
Cindy, Natasha, Hannah, Leah, Douglas, Dallas, Rebecca, Evan, Dustin,
Luke, Noah, Travis, Eartha and Eli; great-great granddaughter Isabel;
sister, Mabel Knowlton of Hillsborough and sister-in-law, Muriel
Hawkes of Hillsborough. She will also be missed by her
helpers Angie and Elaine and by all her extended family and several
nieces, nephews who thought the world of their Aunt
Marion.
Besides her
parents she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Clark; sons,
Raymond, Paul and Stephen; son-in-law, Douglas Reid; granddaughter,
Susan Nelson; sisters, Madeline Steeves (Austin), Lavinia Knowlton
(Elmo), Bessie O’Brien (Weldon); brothers, Howard (Doris), Reginald
(Doris), Bertram (Gertrude), Vaughn; brother-in-law, Melvin
Knowlton.
She will be
resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Sunday
evening from 6-8pm. For those attending masks are required, social
distancing will be followed and a limited number of people in the
building at one time. Due to Covid-19 a private family celebration of
her life will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home by invitation
only. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery, Lower
Cape, NB with a committal service open for anyone who wishes to attend
on Monday, October 5th, 2020 at 3:15pm with Pastor Paul Steeves
officiating.
For those
who wish donations to the Mountain View Cemetery would be
appreciated.
