Cozzarin, Marion (nee Shannon)-
April 24, 1949 – July 19, 2020
It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Marion Shannon Cozzarin on the 19th of July, 2020. Marion was born in Glasgow, Scotland to Catherine and James Shannon. After her father’s young death, Marion arrived in Canada with her brother and Mother in 1957. She eventually settled in Guelph where she worked and raised her family. Marion was the beloved mother of Christopher (Erica), Kevin (Laura), Lisa (Kory) and Laura (Sean).
Marion was a doting grandmother and very proud of being able to watch several of them come into this world. She ensured she was always there at their special events and special days; birthdays, graduations, dance performances, cheerleading, soccer, baseball and volleyball games and even used her IPad to watch when those things happened elsewhere including Texas or New York, or even Disney. She enjoyed using her “amature” technology to stay in touch with her family when times never allowed, even reading bedtime stories. She will be deeply missed by Dylan, Sarah, Matthew, Kaden, Sophia, Maylea, Kara, Emma, Shanyn, Kaleb, George, Connor and Quinn as well as her great granddaughter Penelope.
Marion was the loving partner to Dave Reid for almost 20 years. They spent spring, summer and even fall, enjoying their trailer at Emerald Lake. Their dear dog “Lady” was a loyal companion and loved the trailer just as much as Marion and Dave. They enjoyed family time at the trailer hosting birthday parties, family reunions, baby showers and the annual Thanksgiving dinner.
Marion will be sadly missed by all of her family, including her only brother Jim, his adoring wife Brenda and family.
Marion worked for many years for the WCDSB as a secretary in a number of schools as well as the board office. She enjoyed her time there, interacting with various staff and families.
The family would like to recognize her nurse Brenda, from Homecare for the care that Marion received the past 2 years.
